How Acima Works
Acima works similarly to Progressive Leasing: you select a mattress at a participating retailer, apply for Acima financing (usually on a tablet or phone at the store), and if approved, Acima purchases the item from the retailer on your behalf. You then make regular lease payments to Acima until you either complete the lease or exercise an early purchase option.
Approval Requirements
Acima’s approval is based primarily on: an active checking account in good standing for at least 90 days, regular income deposits (employment, benefits, or self-employment), a valid ID, and an active phone number. No minimum credit score is required, and the application uses a soft inquiry that won’t affect your credit.
Early Purchase Option (EPO)
Acima’s Early Purchase Option lets you buy out the lease early at a discounted price. The earlier you exercise the EPO, the more you save. The EPO is available as early as 90 days into the lease. Using the EPO is almost always financially advantageous compared to completing the full lease term.
Payment Schedule
Acima offers weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payment options aligned to your income schedule. Payments are automatically debited from your checking account. A typical lease amount runs 12-18 months to full term. Your lease agreement will clearly state all costs upfront — review it carefully before signing.

Acima vs Progressive Leasing
